Vango Airbeam Kinetic 500 - Sad day!

Bit of a sad day for me today - our brand new used only once Vango Airbeam Kinetic 600 tent has had to be returned to the shop.
Unfortunately last weekend on our first camping trip with it - yes you guessed it - it sprang several leaks.
Vango really need to sort out the Airbeam tents.
Erecting the tent was a doddle.  We pegged out the footprint.  Pegged out the tent on top and pumped up the beams.  Brilliant, or so we thought until the rain started and the tent started dripping.  Seems the 10000HH ground sheet wasn't sufficiently attached to the 6000HH top sheet.  What a waste of my time and money.  We spent a fortune on petrol picking it up from a well known store's show (not to mention the groundsheet and carpet I'm now stuck with!!) and you can imagine my disappointment when the leaks happened.
Just goes to show that even if you pay a fortune for a tent, it can still leak.

On the plus side I got a full refund - what to buy next ???

Sprayway Hood River 3 Tent Review

Thought Id kick off with a short review I wrote for the Sprayway Hood River 3 tent.
Bought this in 2011, but it turned out to be too small for us, as I like to stand upright!
Turns out I'd bought it online and accidentally purchased the wrong one.  Whoops!!  Easily done, I'm always getting measurements wrong by buying online.  Best I keep to buying in a proper shop me thinks.
anyway heres the original, slightly updated review I gave at the time...

"Slightly shorter than I remember, but more than adequate for our needs. First night was extremely windy and rain lashed down. The tent was superb in these conditions and in the morning it didnt even need they guy ropes adjusting. Easy to set up by one person and equally easy to pack away. Carpet could be a little bigger and it slips about a bit, but looks the business. Headroom in the bedroom could be a little larger and if you are a little claustrophobic the Hood river 4 may be a better option for you. I found the tent was warmer than my previous tents. Everything's sewn in which is great. I would highly recommend as its really light when packed down. And it looks good too."

Updates:
Also found out too late that the campbeds don't actually fit in the bedrooms and couldn't zip them up at night - resulted in being eaten alive by midges that had got in earlier in the day.  Also there was no flysheet blocking the gap between the bedroom and the outer tent, so it was prone to hiding insects.  Ugh.

Sold the tent on Ebay after only using it twice.  Makes a nice tent for a single person, would not get 3 in there tho.

Welcome

Something will appear here shortly I'm sure!!!
